How Skills Affect Search
A client opens search
For example: they land on /search, which already lists every Construction & Home Services seller in Tijuana.
They filter by skill
They tick “Electrician” from the skill filter.
Only matching sellers show
If you didn't select “Electrician”, you don't appear in that filtered list — no matter how often your description mentions it.
Important
A skill you didn't tick is a search you can't show up in. The skills you choose here are the only ones that put you in front of clients filtering for them.
One Category, Seven Subcategories
Every seller registers under one category — Construction & Home Services — with 35 skills organized into seven subcategories. Your eight picks can come from any mix of them; nothing limits you to a single group.

Important
Once you finish registering, your category is locked — only support can change it later. Your skills stay fully editable afterward, so it is fine to refine your eight picks over time.
Choosing Your Skills
The skills are a fixed list — you tap to select, you can't type your own. Pick at least one and up to eight. Eight is a ceiling, not a target: five skills you genuinely do beat eight where three are a stretch.
Right approach
Think about your last several jobs. Which listed skills did they actually need? Which would a client tick in a filter? Select that overlap.
Wrong approach
Filling all eight slots with anything that loosely applies, or picking skills you rarely want to be hired for just to look broad.
Best Practice
Scroll the whole list before deciding — the skills are grouped by trade, and the exact term for your work might sit a little further down than you expect.
Common Mistakes
✕ Sticking to one subcategory when a skill from another matches your work just as well
✕ Selecting one skill when two or three more genuinely apply
✕ Padding the eight slots with skills you don't really offer
