How Search Works on Vendoralia
Understanding how buyers search for sellers is the most direct way to improve your visibility. This page explains exactly what happens when a buyer runs a search — and what you can do to appear in more of the right results.
The Search Flow
City is always applied first
Vendoralia currently serves Tijuana. All searches are scoped to Tijuana sellers automatically.
Category filter
The buyer selects a category — for example, "Business & Consulting."
Skill filter
The buyer selects one or more specific skills — for example, "Business & Growth Strategist" or "Financial Analyst."
Price filter
The buyer sets a minimum and maximum price range, compared against your Basic package price.
Rating filter
The buyer sets a minimum star rating. If a buyer applies this filter, sellers with no reviews yet are excluded from that search — one more reason your first review matters.
Results
Only subscribed sellers who match all selected filters appear, ordered by their average rating. Either you match — or you are invisible to that search.
What You Control
Align your skills to what buyers search for
The skill list reflects buyer language. Choose skills buyers would type, not internal jargon you use to describe your work.
Make your service title searchable
When a buyer types a search from the home page, your title and description are matched against it. A clear title like "Residential Plumber in Tijuana" matches more naturally than "Water Systems Specialist."
Price competitively at the Basic level
Your Basic package price is used for price filters. Even if your Premium is your main offer, the Basic price determines whether you appear in filtered results.
A complete profile converts better
Completeness does not boost your search ranking — but once a buyer finds you, a full profile (portfolio, FAQs, reviews) is what turns a visit into an inquiry.
What You Cannot Control
— Which city buyers select — all buyers see all Tijuana sellers
— Buyer rating filter choices — new sellers should compensate with a stronger overall profile
— Competitor profiles — focus on making yours the best version of itself
Important
If your skill is not in your selected 6, you are completely invisible to any buyer filtering by that skill — even if your title and description mention it multiple times. Skills are the most direct lever for search visibility.
Best Practice
Test your own search visibility: open Vendoralia in an incognito browser, select your category, and apply the filters a buyer looking for you would use. If you do not appear, identify which filter is excluding you.
Frequently Asked Questions
My profile is live but I am getting no inquiries. What should I check?
First confirm your subscription is active. Then check that your skills match common searches in your category, and verify your Basic package price is competitive. Finally run the Quality Checklist — profile gaps reduce conversion even when search visibility is fine.
Can I appear in more than one category?
No. Your profile is registered under one category. You appear in searches for that category only. Choose the one that represents your primary service.
